This charming hotel was originally a traditional Manor House which has been carefully and tastefully restored, along with it’s gardens, to create a world of serenity right in the heart of this lovely old district. Although the original building has been added to, the architectural splendour can still be appreciated.
There is a lovely terraced fresh water outdoor swimming pool, as well as a pool for children, Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath and gym. Restaurant O Portico is found in the original ballroom; tall arched windows look onto a large outdoor terrace and food is regional and international. The winter garden offers a buffet breakfast on a large outdoor terrace, all with stunning views over the bay of Funchal.
