The history of this Quinta begins in the middle of the 19th century when the ancestors of the current owners planted vines and banana trees. Descendants of the initiator of the Madeira wine trade with England, the family was one of the largest producers of this wine.
There are two outdoor swimming pools and two libraries. Breakfast and lunch are served in the Garden Pavilion, dinner in the Dining room or the Bar/Bistro. The Phytoceane Spa was inspired by the tranquillity of the gardens surrounding the estate. It offers a range of treatments and also comprises a Jacuzzi, a steam bath, a sauna and a gym.
