This itinerary enables you to experience the well-known cities of Porto and Lisbon, as well as some of the other places of interest along the way, including the Douro Valley. It ends with a relaxing stay in the Algarve.

Day 1 : UK to Porto

Fly from the UK to Porto. You will be transferred by private car to your hotel in Porto.

Day 2 : Porto

Today you will discover the real Porto city centre on a half day private guided city tour, visiting the most iconic sites such as Oporto Cathedral, Clerigos Tour and the 100 years old S. Bento railway station with its remarkable glazed tile panels. After this, you can cross the Douro River to Vila Nova de Gaia to visit a Port Wine Cellar and have a tasting.

Day 3 : Porto to Pinhao

Today you will be transferred to the Douro Wine region and will visit one of the oldest wine producers in the region, before checking in at your hotel in Pinhao.

Day 4 : Pinhao

Today you can visit the most unique wine villages in the region and meet very passionate wine producers. You will visit the best view points in the region and end your day with a trip in a traditional Rabelo boat. This is a chance to really get a feel for this fascinating region.

Day 5 : Pinhao to Coimbra

This morning, you will visit Aveiro, a magical city surrounded by the river and the sea with many water canals. Take a ride in one of the traditional ‘moliceiro’ boats and admire the beautiful art nouveau houses along the boardwalk. Your next stop will be Coimbra, home of one of the oldest universities in Europe and King John Library – built in 1728, it is considered the most beautiful library in the country with more than 7,000 books.

Day 6 : Coimbra

A day at leisure to relax in your hotel or explore your surroundings further.

Day 7 : Coimbra to Lisbon

Today you will visit Nazare, a colourful fishing village with a lovely sandy beach, before continuing to Obidos, one of the most beautiful villages of the country, surrounded by 13th century castle walls. After this you will be transferred to Lisbon.

Day 8 : Lisbon

Explore the oldest part of the town, next to Lisbon’s Castle, where you can still find very well preserved Roman and Moorish vestiges. Here you can also find the best viewpoints of the city, near the Cathedral. Then head downtown and visit the Belem neighbourhood.

Day 9 : Lisbon

Today, discover the Lisbon coast, stopping first in Cascais, a delightful Portuguese fishing village, located close to some of the finest beaches of the region. Next, you will go to the enchanted town of Sintra, known for its many Royal palaces as it was a summer retreat for the Portuguese kings from the 13th century onwards. To end the day, you will visit a very small wine producer of the Colares region, where you can taste some of the best wines in the locality.

Day 10 : Lisbon to Evora

Today you will be taken to the south of Lisbon, crossing the amazing Arrabida Natural Park towards Azeitao, home of the famous sweet moscatel wine – here you can visit a wine producer and enjoy a tasting before continuing to Evora, a world heritage site.

Day 11 : Evora

Explore the capital of the Alentejo region – a city full of history and culture. Visit the Roman temple of Diana, one of the oldest universities in the country and the biggest medieval Cathedral in Portugal. You can also visit one of the best wine producers and taste its wines.

Day 12 : Evora to Vilamoura

Today you will be transferred from your hotel in Evora to your hotel in Vilamoura.

Day 13 : Vilamoura

A day at leisure to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

Day 14 : Vilamoura

A second day to relax or, if you wish, we can arrange a half day tour of the Algarve region.

Day 15 : Vilamoura to Faro to UK

You will be transferred to the airport by private car, before flying home.
